Have you registered to vote?

The Obama website has a great tool to help you register to vote, get an absentee ballot or find your polling place.

Turnout is going to be important in this campaign. How can we get pro-Obama people to register and to vote?

Since the announcement of Palin as VP candidate and her speech at the R. convention, the discourse of this election campaign has indeed turned to "pit bull" rhetoric.

Our country doesn't need more of the slash and burn mentality in leadership. We need to heal, both in ourselves and in our relations in the world.

Sarah Palin is a destructive, retrogressive candidate who can irreparably harm our country and the position women have achieved thus far.

As to how to get folks registered, I've printed out several copies of my state's registration form, familiarized myself with all the rules, and then walk around and help folks register. I think the extra incentive is that I also carry stamped envelopes to put them in and put them in the mailbox meself.

megfighter: As a former League of Women Voters member, I recall you have to have a legal residence where you vote. In NY, if you can get a registration card at the address you register with, you can vote. However, you CAN'T register in two different places. That's illegal. For more information on voting in Tennessee, go to their website at http://www.state.tn.us/sos/election/index.htm
