I read a post on an msnbc blog that says: "We don't want any more of the "experts" in charge... We want one of us to go up there and tell it like it is."
Why do you think it is that people think governing the country can be done by just any old person, with or without skills and experience? I wonder, do these people go to "one of us" when they need brain surgery? Or when they need someone to fix their plumbing?
It is my own opinion that, although experience is not necessarily a guarantee of good judgment (look at Rumsfeld), I'd feel much safer with a Harvard law graduate with Senate experience in the White House than a gun toting woman whose foreign affairs experience is "Alaska is next door to Russia"

First of all, she never asked for books to be banned.
As for experience, why does everyone keep overlooking her political experience. She spent six years on the City council, and another six years as Mayor. And then two years as Governor.
But regardless, she is not running for President. She is running as the Vice-President. And as for McCain being too old, his mother is 93 and still going strong.
dilligas: It's well documented that she asked the librarian at Wasilla if she'd be willing to ban books. As for her experience as a council person and mayor in a town of 7000 people, I know a lot of folks in my (larger) town who were trustees and mayor. None of them are qualified to be president of the US.
The request to ban books is indeed true, unfortunately.
As for the argument, "McCain is going to live forever" thing. Yeah, well, when everyone in power gets wind about how clueless this VP is....they will be standing in line to poison McCain's drink.

I don't mind that you "think" she wanted books banned. But, in reality, some of the books were not even published yet that she is accused of wanting banned. I urge anyone to go to factcheck.org, where there is a story from time magazine showing how false most of these rumors are.

I don't mind if someone does not like the Governor, but, at least be honest with your thoughts. If they are true, then your opinion is what counts. If they are false, as a lot of them are, then please keep your mind open that maybe she is not as bad as some would want you to believe.

So no, she didn't demand that any specific books be banned. She just tried to fire the librarian who told her she wouldn't ban books if asked. The librarian kept her job because the rest of the town objected to her firing.

Did you know Obama voted no more than 4 times to saving babies for abortion as late as 7-8 months leaving them to die.
You say Sarah scares you, Obama makes me sick to my stomac for leaving babies to die.
To those who are against the woman's freedom of choice....tell me, how you can support a President who supports the slaughter of our young men and women in any war? If we are talking religion then "Thou shalt not kill" means exactly what it says. You can't have it both ways.
Thus, leave your hypocritical religion out of government and let the freedom of choice be a personal and moral issue. There is only one that will judge us and that is not you.
The aspect I cannot understand about Palin is that she seems so intent on power - that she doesn't recognize that she's being used by the Republicans.
Everyone and his mother knows this woman is guilty as charged in Troopergate, and only trying to shut down the investigation makes everyone more suspicious.
The Republicans even know that she's guilty which is why they are hoping to delay things until after the election, and if they win - when all is revealed - they will shove her aside, and McPain will choose Liebermann.
