Here are my reactions:
She did not make any major gaffes. She held her own and spoke in complete sentences 99% of the time. I personally dislike that snide style and the mock folksiness. And I certainly noticed, as did most of the commentators, that she ducked a lot of questions. Still, expectations were low, and all in all, I think she exceeded them.

Why did Biden, the moderater, the audience, and the media pander to this woman as if demanding a real answer to a question was unfair? Since when is not falling flat on your face considered a success in a vice-presidential debate? I'v never been so disgusted . Just the fact that she is running not to mention that any percentage of the population actually takes her seriously makes the country feel even more broken that it already is.
Sarah Palin showed no emotion and kept a smirk on her face when Joe Biden told of a painful memory of not knowing if his own child would live or die after a car accident.
Sarah Palin never made a response of condolence. She is cold and unfeeling. A mechanical bot just speaking the lines rehearsed for her show.
She appeared very prepared to give her lines well practiced and was very good at not answering questions.
She is so phony, it's disgusting.
Someone like her in a position of power is very scary. Considering John McCains' age, a 72 year who may have age related mental health issues that could happen. Having a possible psycho in power...
All those winks for the men. A flirt, is putting it mildly. She worked her dog-done-it ways.

As bad as Palin may be, She's no worse than Pelosi. She'll be the president of the senate if elected. so what? The vp hasn't been a political force for a long time.
I'm from Detroit but I am currently in the Chicago area. Obama is from Illinois. I am a gregarious person and the upcoming elections are on everyone's mind.
I have to say that I'm surprised. Most of the locals here in Obama's home state say he's just another "machine politician." I'm not a big fan of McCain either.
Whoever gets elected is going to get screwed no matter what anyway. They will take the blame for the current mess. Whoever gets elected will be a lame duck.
As for my opinion, I'd rather have Biden than Palin and I'd rather have McCain over Obama, but not for the reasons you might think.
I'd rather have Biden because he is combat proven and will inherently have a sense of duty. McCain is the same deal. It may not make sense to you, but talk to a combat vet, and they'll agree that something inside changes and you feel more responsible to those around you.
There is also the fact that Obama is black. I know that black isn't politically correct but I don't see how someone who is African-American can be president if he isn't American first. That's less politically correct. You're about to scream "RACISM" but you haven't let me finish. Obama is neither stupid nor ignorant. He's very intelligent and would do what he thinks is best, but with the current climate, he is doomed to fail. I'd hate to see history paint the first black president as a failure especially when he is forced to run damage control.
The other thing I think that will be a huge obstacle for Obama is that he won't get the cooperation he'll need from his own party, despite the help Biden could provide.
So, do I hate Palin? No, not really but she looks familiar to me. I think she has a MILF video out there somewhere.
So, do I like Biden. Not really, but I think he has a sense of duty to others.
I am from Alaska, this woman is dangerous. She has an authoritative streak in her bigger than Alaska.
I think she winked and "aww shucks" her way through the whole thing, thinking it would sway voters.
Sadly,she was / is wrong.
